It’s the promised land! Lego separated at birth! I’ve ragged on MC before here, but I honestly have nothing against the game at all. I am happy for it’s success and have been following it for years, tried it but found it wasn’t quite for me.
What is interesting right now is how it’s toted as the obvious alternative to LU. Is your construction based mmog closing? Why not Zoidberg? It really is not the same and neither have the same exact appeal.
Now Cuusoo is releasing a Minecraft set and I’m apprehensive about what we’re going to see. If you get a box of basic bricks don’t you have a Minecraft set right there? I don’t really understand the point except to bundle otherwise cheap bricks in an expensive box. I doubt whether there will be any unique bricks or colours, which is a driving force in whether I pick up a set or not. Maybe the target audience doesn’t care about that sort of thing. I’m also curious if they will have minifigs or brick built figs.
I hope the line succeeds because it will be good for innovation and the independent game community but can’t see myself having anything to do with it. How about you?
