This is a project of mine that’s been in the works for a long time and is still not done. People here who have seen my YouTube channel will likely already know of it, but for those who haven’t, I thought I’d make a post here so people can see.
Like many, I was saddened when the closure of LEGO Universe was announced. However, I also decided to do something about it. Not try to “save the game” like so many tried (and failed) to do, but capture every single element of it that I realistically could with video recordings before it was too late.
So, from November 5th 2011 to January 28th 2012, I recorded well over 30 hours of video, detailing every mission in the game (faction-specific missions as well), all flags, all imagination bricks, all binoculars, all story plaques, etc. The only thing I didn’t get to do was collect every item and complete every achievement – and aside from having the time constraint of three months, making doing that nearly impossible, watching a player grind for every last achievement and item would be nearly pointless. So instead, I recorded several videos of what the passport contained in each faction (showing all achievements without actually spending precious time doing them), and I’ve left it to places like the LEGO Universe Wiki to document items. I also recorded jetpack tours of all the worlds in the game, exploring every nook and cranny, though I have yet to upload any of those.
The four minifigures used to record this massive project were:
- ThisGuyHasNoName, Sentinel, Overbuild (US) server,
- YouJustLostTheGame, Paradox, Storm (UK) server,
- GenericWench, Venture League, Storm (UK) server,
- lolwat, Assembly, Storm (UK) server.
As of when I write this, I have uploaded about 11 hours of video in 61 parts, so I’m somewhere around 1/3 done. You can watch what I’ve uploaded so far here:
(And yes, I just copied this from the post I also made on the LEGO Universe Wiki to save time.)
