This was sent to me today. Also been hearing some neat tidbits from Robin Sathers who helped do the judging that awarded Graeme the honour, making Robin, Nathan Proudlove and Graeme Dymond the only 3 full time professional model builders in Canada ( so far and that we know of )

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto announces LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Master Model Builder Champion
TORONTO – After a fun and extremely unique two day audition, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto judges have selected Graeme Dymond as the Brick Factor winner who will become the attraction’s LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Master Model Builder.
“I am unbelievably excited to be chosen as Toronto’s first Master Model Builder,” said Dymond. “The competition was incredibly tough so it is an honour to be selected for this position. I can’t wait to start building new LEGO models for the attraction and welcoming families to learn and have fun at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto.”
Brick Factor was a two-day search to find LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto’s first Master Model Builder. Over 200 applicants faced off in a series of building heats to showcase their skills in the hopes of moving on to win their dream job of a full-time salaried position as Master Model Builder at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto, slated to open in March 2013 at Vaughan Mills.
Dymond, a native of Toronto, is a self proclaimed LEGO fanatic who even incorporated LEGO into his wedding.
“My wedding ceremony program featured a wedding party of LEGO people, as well as a LEGO wedding cake, with a LEGO bride and groom on top,” said Dymond.
The LEGO love doesn’t stop at his wedding however, as Dymond explained that he has a room in his house dedicated to storing and building LEGO, but every room features selected LEGO creations. For his community church’s 100th anniversary, he even built a LEGO model that the children of the community could play and interact with.
Dymond, a trained teacher, currently works in a training department for a large Canadian financial institution. Teaching, be it with LEGO or something else, is part of Dymond’s character; ideal for the position that will have him working with eager to learn LEGO fans at the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre.
“I am and always have been a LEGO enthusiast, and I want to share with people that LEGO is a great learning tool and demonstrate how LEGO can be used to express ideas and share thoughts through its unlimited possibilities,” said Dymond.
During Brick Factor, candidates were faced with millions of LEGO bricks when they arrived and had to demonstrate their skill at creating LEGO models in a series of time-limited, creative LEGO challenges. A panel of judges, which included LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Atlanta’s Master Model Builder Joshua Bohn, evaluated each candidate’s performance.
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto is a 34,000 square-foot indoor attraction featuring more than 3 million LEGO bricks, geared towards children ages 3-10 and their families. Its range of interactive attractions will include hands-on play areas, a 4D cinema, master classes led by Model Builders, two LEGO rides, special party rooms and MINILAND — the venue’s signature re-creation of landmark locations and buildings throughout Toronto and the GTA, made entirely out of LEGO bricks.
