  1. Has anyone told you you lead a charmed life??
What a wonderful beginning to what I can only imagine at this point was an epic experience.

    “Please sir, we want more.”

  2. Finally, your ship weighed anchor !!!
Your story can make the readers exciting, I think. 🙂

Thank you for sharing your precious memories, Steve.

  3. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series, Steve. You’d better follow through. 🙂
I’ll be curious to see how your experiences and thoughts match up to mine.

  4. It’s true, he fell out of his chair. I would have loved to be part of the first wave as well, but Steve is a great ambassador for our club and between John and him really helped put VicLUG on the map. Far out of proportion for the size of club we are really. We might only have a dozen or so people in the club, but wow what a crew.

Great read and looking forward to more! I will pester him if he doesn’t follow through on the rest of the installments and might have to find ways to get the message through to him that this is serious business: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/22378

    • I’d also like to add that this was only sort of a case of random serendipity. The fact that Steve and myself found ourselves in this situation was made more probable by our prolonged obsession with the Traveler’s Tales Lego games up to that point. We had made exhaustive reviews, bug reports, glitches, and comparisons of them all for years. Not to mention we are avid game players in general: card, board and other video games.

The whole club is really into games to various degrees, to the extent that we’ve come up with several of our own minifig table top games, some loosely based on others but all with our own spin. Steve has been instrumental in developing and game testing the rule sets, ironing out the bugs and making the game run smooth. One of the other pillars in our VicWars gameplay and development is another LUP, Rod, who should show up in a future chapter 😀

  5. Amazing story 🙂 what a great adventure! can’t wait to hear more of it! definitely need to follow through on this one 😉

  6. Thanks everyone for the kind comments and encouragement.
I’m going to see John (mentioned above) on Saturday, and plan to chat with him about LU,
reminisce and hopefully stir up some good memories and tidbits for the next “chapter”.
    Thanks again, cheers!

  7. I read this a few months back and well… IT’S GREAT! Been waiting for a few months, I know your busy and all but are you planning on releasing the next t installment anytime soon!?! Great read!
